Square brown encaustic (inlaid) earthenware tile decorated with sand-coloured flower patterns. One of an original set of four tiles to make square pattern. The original floor in the Mitchell Building was earthenware and replaced with carpet. Encaustic tile is made from hard-fired clay.
'Hollins & Co.' maker's mark on the back of tile.
