The University has long fostered a vibrant culture of volunteering that significantly enriches the academic community and extends its influence beyond campus boundaries. Established in 2003, the Volunteer Program boasts 2,500 volunteers and more than 70 volunteer groups. These volunteers contribute their time and energy across various campuses, even globally, reflecting the University’s commitment to diversity and community engagement.
Volunteering provides invaluable experiences to participants while bridging the gap between the University and the wider community.
The University recognises the contributions of its volunteers through the annual Volunteer Achievement Awards. These awards honour outstanding individuals and groups who have significantly contributed to the University community. From dedicated mentors to volunteers enhancing research projects, these awards celebrate their profound impact on the University.
