Codan is a global electronics powerhouse founded by alumni Ian Wall, Alastair Wood, and Jim Bettison, and has collaborated with the University to initiate a groundbreaking scholarship program.
Since 1959, Codan has been a global leader in electronics engineering. An important part of its history is supporting education. In 1961, Codan released its first high-frequency Radio for School of the Air, a program for primary and secondary school children in remote and outback Australia. Now Codan has turned its eye to tertiary education—the Codan Founders’ Scholarship, set to award its first recipient in 2024, aims to empower exceptional PhD candidates in engineering.
This opportunity allows students to work alongside experts to address real-world social challenges and create positive impacts globally. The multi-year PhD program, honouring the achievements of Codan’s founders, offers students an immersive experience within a world-class engineering organisation.
This exciting collaboration reflects Codan’s commitment to innovation, fostering cross-learning between Codan and University students, and driving the advancement of novel intellectual property for life-changing products.
