Vignette 7: Pammie's donation supports excellence in Engineering
VIGNETTE
In 2023, the University received a $5 million donation from South Australian philanthropist Pamela Wall, also known as ‘Pammie’. This transformative gift has established the Ian and Pamela Wall Chair in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a significant milestone in the University’s 150th Year Fundraising Campaign.
Pammie and her late husband Ian have steadfastly supported various causes, pioneering research, and opportunities for students and patients requiring specialist medical care. Her unwavering dedication was recognised with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2007.
In addition to the academic chair, which is sure to have a lasting effect on the field of electrical and electronic engineering, the University will further invest $1.5 million to fund research fellowships and scholarships in these areas.
