CONSTITUTION OF THE SENATE.

the number of Graduates admitted by this University to the Degrees of
Doctor of Medicine and Master o[...]than Iii'l y
the number required by the Adelaide University Act, to constitute lhn

The third section of the Adelaide University Act provides that at the
expiration of the third[...]The Senate having been duly constituted in May, 1877, it became the
duty of that body to elect persons[...]last meeting of the Senate.

DESIGNS FOR PROPOSED UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS.

Towards the close of the year 1876 se[...]mence, without further delay, the erection
of the University Buildings.

STUDENTS AND GLASS LISTS.

During the year 1877 four gentleman, who had previously passed a
Matriculation Examination of the University of Melbourne, and two
of whom also held University Scholarships under the Council of Educa—
tion, were admitted to matriculatc in The University of Adelaide with-
out further examination. Six ot[...]passed the Matriculation Examination in December,
1877.

Ten Students matriculated in 1877. Four passed the first Ordinary
Examination, and[...]f non—matriculated Students Who during the year
1877 joined one or more of the classes was twenty-ninc[...].

The results of the various examinations during 1877 appear in the
ClassLists in the Appendix to this[...]n being placed any longer at the disposal of the

University. Arrangements have therefore been made to rent tw[...]apartments will suffice for the purposes of the
University until a portion of the proposed buildings shall_h[...]103

UNIVERSITY PRIMARY EXAMINATIONS.

The Board of Governors of[...]inations
in lieu of them would be provided by the University, the Council caused 11
scheme for an annual examination to be termed the “ University Primary
Examination” to be framed, and the Boar[...]on shall be bold
in May next, and that the first University Primary Examination shall
be held in the followin[...]et prepared to establish a Medical School in
this University, they have thought it desirable to institute spec[...]furnish Medical Practitioners, who do not possess
University Degrees, with the opportunity of acquiring Degree[...]S.

Two of the three gentlemen who in 1876 gained University Scholar
ships under the Council of Education have become Matriculated
Students of this University, and are prosecuting their Undergraduate
studies[...]eir year at the Ordinary Examination in
December, 1877.

In the year 1877 the South Australian Commercial Travellers Associa-
tion cxapressed awish to found, in this University, a perpetual frco
Scholarship for sons and[...]
[...]ed, of the income and expenditure during the
year 1877 is annexed to this report.
