Len Laffer graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 1934 and in 1941 he joined the staff at Roseworthy Agricultural College as a lecturer and research chemist.
Len Laffer also became involved in fruit canning at Berri and later wine production with O Basedow Ltd at Nuriootpa.
Subsequently Len became a leading South Australian land valuer.
Len Laffer also made significant contributions to agriculture through recommendations made to the Land Settlement Committee, the Land Settlement Act, Advances to Settlers Act and the Rural Advances Guarantee Act.
