The memorial is dedicated to Roseworthy College graduates who died while serving in the South African Campaign (also known as the Boer War).
It was funded by Old Collegians, erected in the Dining Room, and originally unveiled in 1903.
The text reads: "In grateful and loving memory of our brave and loyal comrades, who volunteered for service in South Africa, where they died for their Sovereign and Country. Alexander William Nicholas Frederick Joseph Tothill "Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" South African Campaign, 1899-1902 Erected by old Students.
