These laboratories were built in 1960 when the Benham Laboratories became too crowded to house all those wishing to study biological sciences. The building was occupied by the Departments of Genetics and of Zoology.
It commemorates the work of Sir Ronald Alymer Fisher, Professor of Genetics at Cambridge from 1943 to 1957. When he retired he came to Adelaide and worked in the building for some years.
Demolished in 2000 and replaced by the Molecular Life Sciences Building.
