Date Abolished1993DescriptionIn 1946 the Department of Engineering became the Department of Civil Engineering after new Chairs of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were appointed and the title of Professor Rowland Cuthbert Robin, who had been appointed Chair of Engineering in 1938, was changed to Professor of Civil Engineering.
The Department of Civil Engineering changed its name to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 1993.
