Born in 1907 at Hawker and educated at Quorn and Adelaide High Schools. A graduate of the University, Victor Edgeloe was first appointed to staff in 1927 as Registrar's Assistant. In 1947 he was promoted to the position of Assistant Registrar and in 1955 to Registrar.
He was Registrar for over 45 years and retired on 31 March 1973. In that year he was awarded the unique title Registrar Emeritus in honour of the contributions he had made to the University.
