Tube dates from before 1909, and used in Adelaide.
Central sphere of glass with four protuberances, or glass tubes. Metal fittings on the end of three of the glass tubes (or arms). There may be damage to the fourth 'arm', it has no metal fitting on its tip like the others.
Maker: Alfred E. Dean & Co. London, England.
Tube contains low pressure gas and electrodes to which a high voltage was attached. The thick electrode is the anode from which x-rays are emitted. There is no filament or low voltage supply. The additional tube extensions contain an absorber to maintain the purity of the gas.
