Tube dates from before 1909, and used in Adelaide.
Central sphere of glass with four protuberances, or glass tubes. Metal fittings on the end of four of the glass tubes (or arms).
Maker: Alfred E. Dean & Co. London, England.
Tube contains low pressure gas and electrodes to which a high voltage was attached. The thick electrode is the anode from which x-rays are emitted. There is no filament or low voltage supply. The additional tube extensions contain an absorber to maintain the purity of the gas. Wires or springs connect four of protuberances.
