Sir Eric Neal Collection

The Sir Eric Neal Collection documents the distinguished contribution of Sir Eric Neal AC to Australian business, public life and engineering through a selection of correspondence, media clippings, photographs, programs, invitations, notes, books and objects. The Collection also documents the contributions of Sir Eric Neal's wife, Lady Joan Neal (nee Bowden), who was ever-present in supporting his career and regularly attended official engagements. Sir Eric and Lady Neal's family and personal life is reflected in this collection. 

The University of South Australia (UniSA) received the Sir Eric Neal Collection in 2001 as part of the opening of the Sir Eric Neal Library at Mawson Lakes campus. Sir Eric Neal donated additional papers to his collection in 2017 and 2019. Following his passing in 2025, Adelaide University received a significant donation of papers from the Neal family (accession number: SACC2026/10). 

As at October 2026, the Sir Eric Neal Collection comprises of 47 archival series numbered EN1 to EN47. Each series contains at minimum a box list. You can browse the Sir Eric Neal Collection or search the Adelaide University Library catalogue for further information about collection holdings.
